Wild and Wonderful. That's how West Virginia describes itself and anyone who's attended a previous Fall Colors Ride knows it's true. West Virginia has some of the finest sport bike roads in the country and all those curves, hills, switchbacks and unspoiled vistas will definitely put a grin on your face. And, of course, the October time frame has the leaves turning to those beautiful colors you only see in the Appalachians. To quote Chevy Chase from one of those "vacation" movies, "it's going to take a plastic surgeon to wipe that smile off your face, you're going to have so much fun".

Snowshoe Resort is entirely surrounded by Monongahela National Forest and its unspoiled mountainous terrain. It is, of course, a ski resort during the winter months but during the warmer months the entire region caters to adventuring. You'll see lots of people on 2-wheels both with and without motors and there'll be all sorts of climbers and trekkers about too. For us there are the great roads, our great MSTA friends and lots of interesting destinations - it's a Motorcycle Sport Touring Association kind of place. The host hotel for the 2009 Fall Colors Ride is the The Inn at Snowshoe (877-41-4386) conveniently located on SR66 just off US219. The hotel has provided a discounted rate to MSTA for this event so be sure to the provide Group Discount Code when making your reservation. The special rate includes a full breakfast for 2 in the hotel's restaurant. |
