Dan Clark Safety Fund

The purpose of this program is to promote the use of better motorcycle protective gear and the participation in formal rider training on a continuing basis for HSTA members.

FUNDING:
The HSTA Executive Committee will allocate funds from the Dan Clark fund, with this amount varying from year-to-year depending on donations and participation.

ADMINISTRATION:
The program will be administered by the Safety Fund coordinators, with oversight by the HSTA Vice President.

ELIGIBILITY:
Your membership must have been current for the entire calendar year that the item or service was purchased plus the following year of payout.

ELIGIBLE ITEMS & COURSES:
Approved apparel are ¾ and full-face helmets, full-fingered gloves, boots, leather/synthetic riding jackets/pants or one-piece suits and electric vests/jackets. Motorcycle add-ons (mechanical or electronic) and track days are not eligible. Please refer to STAReview for a complete listing of the approved courses.

SUBMISSION:
Eligible HSTA members will provide a copy of the dated receipt for apparel and/or training along with their name, member number and contact information, with a separate copy for each apparel item or training course. A description of the item or class must be provided on a separate piece of paper because receipts are often not descriptive.

The submission MUST be clear and complete to be considered for the drawing.


SELECTION OF WINNERS:

A drawing will take place at a selected HSTA event in the spring to pick the winners from the previous year. Those results and awarding of checks will take place at STAR of that year. The number of winning names to be drawn will be determined by the funding available for that calendar year. Member names drawn will be reimbursed 50% of the cost of the eligible item/class up to a maximum of $100.00. Winners need not be present and their checks will be mailed to the address provided on the individual application.
