About the HSTA

The Honda Sport Touring Association (HSTA) was founded in 1982 and is chartered by the American Motorcycle Association. The primary purpose of the club is to bring together riders whose focus is motorcycle sport touring regardless of type or brand of motorcycle. There are members throughout the US, Canada, and numerous foreign countries. Members range in age from late teens to late eighties, with a median age between 35 and 45, and include virtually all socioeconomic strata. The majority of our members ride sport touring bikes. While Honda is the predominant brand, owners of all makes are encouraged to join and enjoy the same membership benefits. A cordial relationship with American Honda Motor Company since the association's inception has been and continues to be a key ingredient in its success.

HSTA Riding Philosophy

HSTA members consider themselves true enthusiasts and are often found riding when weaker souls are grounded by 'bad weather'. The club differs from some other groups in that most of its members don't care for riding in large groups and, once a destination has been selected, will split into twos and threes, each group selecting their own pace and routes. In addition to local gatherings in most states each month, many other activities, such as MSF rider courses, campouts, overnighters are regularly organized. Highways, canyons or even off road -- wherever or however, HSTA has members who do your kind of riding.

Our Emphasis

The emphasis of our Association is in making friends, learning more about our sport, and in making our motorcycling trips more pleasant and meaningful. We promote "excellence and safety in the enjoyment of motorcycle sport touring", and are always trying to learn how to be better, safer riders. We believe that enjoying the road on the way to a destination is as important as arriving at the destination.

Membership Dues

Membership is currently $35.00 per year, and $10.00 for members of household (residing at the same address). Membership includes the monthly national newsletter, technical information, membership directory, rider assistance, car rental discounts, decal, patch, pin, and more!
